I noticed recently that parents are paying loads of money to have photo shoots done where the newborn baby is propped up in unnatural positions adorned with necklaces and frilly outfits or covered in furry, fuzzy things. We get it! Babies are soft! The newborn's hands are pushed together and stuffed under their head, while the photographer snaps pictures as quickly as possible before the baby falls back into its natural blob state.
I get uncomfortable when I see these pictures. Why would anyone want their newborn to look like something other than a newborn, which would just be an older baby? An older fancy baby? They're going to get there really soon. Just wait it out a couple of months. It reminds me of those dog pictures, where a beagle is dressed like a gentleman. It's a dog. It's cute as is!
My point is newborns are cute because they're newborns. You don't have to dress them up like they're going to a fancy ball. Right?
